Cards of the Future

The earth is fucked, has been for generations. Some unknown event fractured
the planet from within. The pieces scattered but are held together by some mysterious energy the nature of which continues to evade humanity's brightest minds. The destruction of earth was sudden and unexpected. The few that survived where those already settled in several fleets owned by international corporations, or independent spacefarers. Since the death of earth the fleets have consolidated under three primary corporate identities, with the remainder of survivors gathering into rag tag communities or pirate gangs. 

The players party will consist of those who seek to reach the core, each for different reasons. To that end, they go about raiding corporate ships in search of riches and experience to ready themselves for the final journey to the core.
